Pastor's Day 2017

On Tuesday, October 24, OCCS hosted Pastor's Day in honor of Pastor Appreciation Month. Pastors were invited from the many churches represented by the students of OCCS. 15 pastors and youth pastors attended the event.

"This has become an annual event that is highly anticipated by the students and pastors alike.  The students get very excited to see their pastor or church leader come into their classroom.   I think the pastors enjoy getting the attention from all the kids too.  Pastors were invited to come and spend some time in students' classes, eat lunch with them, and even go out for recess.  We consider ourselves partnering with parents and the church to train up young people.  This is one way we strengthen that partnership.  We have a total of 19 congregations represented at our school, and we had about 12 represented."

"I love Pastor's Day at OCCS. Pastor's Day is a great opportunity for me to connect with the students from my church on their turf and to get to know what they do day in and day out. Pastor's Day also allows me to see how blessed we are to have such dedicated and Christ-like teachers who work hard to teach every subject from a Christ-centered perspective and to help the students grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord. Thank you to OCCS for allowing me this invaluable opportunity to connect with OCCS. It is greatly appreciated."

"I love Pastor's Day at OCCS because I get to watch the love teachers have for students and their work, feel the love the students have for their pastor and church, and grasp that the love of Christ compels parents to invest in this special place. I hope I'm invited back again next year.

P.S. Loved the Gaga Ball.😊 "
